Puglia Guide - Guide of Puglia Italy.
Throughout this guide you will find information about all the many beautiful attractions and places to visit in this warm and friendly region. An area not yet discovered by the rest of Europe, but Italian holidaymakers swarm here in the summer, to the resorts, small country hotels or even their own vacation home. So what do they know that you don't? With the aid of articles, reviews, general information, we will try to show you. Surrounded by the beautiful Mediterranean Sea (well okay the Adriatic Sea to the north coast and the Ionian Sea to the south coast if you want to split hairs) the area has of course very mild winters and warm springs and autumns, plus hot summers. Indeed more and more people are seeing it as an ideal spot to retire to or buy a holiday place (the property is still very cheap). Drive inland just a few miles and you will find sleepy hill towns, many with well preserved old quarters where you can wander down narrow, cobbled alleys, sit outside a pavement cafe or take in the beauty of the local medieval church. Agriculture is still a major industry with miles of hills covered with pine and olive trees and the occasional shepherd with his flock of goats. The roads are mostly quiet (outside the towns), one minute you will be stuck behind a farmer in his 3-wheel pickup, the next passed by someone in a little Fiat doing obscene speeds! Driving through the towns, you will find people having a friendly chat in the middle of the street, cars parked everywhere and impossibly narrow roads with clothes washing stands left on the pavement (if there is one) to dry in the hot sun. For those of us used to the towns and cities of England, this really is another world. Puglia Guide - Guide of Puglia Italy.
