It seems like every food is celebrated with the local delicacies such as; cheese, octopus, sceblasti (a sort of bread with tomatoes), cuddrura (a doughnut shaped bread, I think), ciliegie (cherries), frittato (omelette), taralli (biscuits, some savoury), Anguria (watermelon) and everything else you might think of from sausages to, of course, wine, it wouldn't be Italy without that.

So to sum it up, festivals involve a lot of dressing up, eating, drinking, eating, parades, fireworks, a bit of history, religion and eating!
